  • Numburindi Festival Ablution Block

    Date completed
    Plans for the construction and installation of a public ablution block in Numbulwar have been developed to support the Numburindi Festival, with thanks to funding provided by the NT Government via Arts NT. Anticipated completion is December 2023.
  • Playground Shelter and Softfall

    Date completed
    Plans for the installation of a shelter structure and softfall at Barunga playground have been developed. Anticipated date of completion is December 2023.
  • Waste Management Strategy 2022-2032

    The development of a 10-year Waste Management Strategy is underway, which is expected to provide clear strategic and operational guidance for the provision of services and investment in regional waste management facilities. Anticipated completion is December 2023.
  • Cyclone Shelter

    Date completed
    Construction of the cyclone shelter in Borroloola is managed by the NT Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics.
  • Upgrade to Internal Roads

    Date completed
    Works to reseal and upgrade the drainage of all local roads in Bulman have been completed.
  • Aged Care/ Respite Centre

    Date completed
    Refurbishment of the Mataranka Aged Care/ Respite Centre is underway, including the fitting of a new purpose-built kitchen.
  • Playground Installation

    Date completed
    Roper Gulf Regional Council engaged works to install a new playground in Beswick. The playground shelter and the playground equipment have now been installed. This project was completed October 2022.
  • Barunga Statement Memorial & Way Finding Strategy

    Design plans are being developed for the construction of a memorial in Barunga. The design will communicate to young locals and visitors the important history of Aboriginal Land Rights and the Treaty Movement, with specific reference to the Barunga Statement. Anticipated completion of design
  • Upgrades to Oval Furniture

    Date completed
    The installation of more spectator seating, an umpire enclosure, and a scoreboard at Barunga Oval have been completed.
