Roper Gulf Regional Council is proud to announce the official opening of the new Mataranka Aged Care
Facility, a purpose-built space designed to provide culturally appropriate, safe, and supportive services
for senior residents across Mataranka, Mulggan and Jilkminggan.
The new facility marks a major milestone in Council’s long-term commitment to improving aged care
infrastructure across the region.
Mayor Tony Jack said the opening represents an important investment in community wellbeing.
“Our elders are at the heart of our communities.
This facility reflects Council’s ongoing commitment to ensuring they have access to the care, comfort,
and dignity they deserve,” Mayor Jack said.
“It’s more than a building, it’s a place for culture, connection, and community.”
The Mataranka Aged Care Facility will serve as a local hub for aged care services, supporting elders
through daily programs, nutritious meals, and social activities delivered by dedicated, compassionate staff.
Community members are kindly invited to attend the official opening ceremony on Wednesday, 10
December, with formal proceedings to commence at 10.30 am, and a shared community morning tea
afterwards.
