Last Friday, Mataranka hosted an award ceremony to celebrate the significant achievements of three valued staff members.

The Council extends heartfelt congratulations to Sarka Hiekova and Johno Huddleston, both recognised for 10 years of service to Roper Gulf Regional Council.

Sarka joined the Council in June 2014 as the Sport and Recreation Officer, transitioning to the role of Customer Service Officer in 2017, and currently serving as Senior Administration Support Officer since 2020.

Johno began working with the Council in January 2014 as a Night Patrol Officer, progressing to his current role as Community Safety Team Leader in 2021.

Both Sarka and Johno are invaluable assets to the Mataranka team, and we express our gratitude for their decade-long commitment to our organisation and to the Mataranka community.

Additionally, we celebrate Marlene Collins from the Mataranka Aged Care team, who was recognised last week with two awards.

Marlene received a Certificate of Appreciation for her strong work ethic and dedication to the Aged Care clients she assists daily, and a Certificate of Achievement for successfully completing the Aged Care induction videos.

These awards were presented by our Aboriginal Community Liaison Officer, Rodney Hoffman and Mataranka Council Services Manager, Karyn Kalamaras.

Recognising outstanding service, such as that demonstrated by each of these individuals, is hugely important to us as an organisation and we are very proud of their accomplishments.
