Welcome to the Roper Gulf  Shire

The new Shire incorporates previous local government bodies;

Borroloola Community Government Council, Numbulwar Numburindi Community Government Council, Nyirranggulung Mardrulk Ngadberre Regional Council, Yugul Mangi Community Government Council, Mataranka Community Government Council, Jilkminggan Community Government Council and a large area of currently unincorporated land, the Gulf, Roper Valley, Sturt Plateau and Southern Arnhem Land.

 

 

Roper Gulf Shire Triumphs at the Tidy Town Awards

Barunga have won the 09/10 award for the Territory’s Tidiest Town and also Territory's Medium Town Awards.  They will now enter the National Finals.

Ngukurr won Best Community Group/Partnership Project

Wednesday 9 December 2009 – election day.  If there is more than one candidate, this is the day that everyone gets to vote for the person they want to represent them on the Roper Gulf Shire Council.
