The new Shire incorporates the regions of Borroloola ,Numbulwar , Yugul Mangi (Ngukurr) , Mataranka , Jilkminggan and a large area of currently unincorporated land, the Gulf, Roper Valley, Sturt Plateau and Southern Arnhem Land.
